  • Sean Chu, Ward 4 Councillor

Cambrian Heights & Rosemont Spring Clean-Up 2024

Join us for our annual Spring Clean-up event! It’s a wonderful opportunity to help keep our community clean and vibrant, and to properly dispose of items that can be recycled or need special handling.

When: Sunday, May 19, 2024
Time: 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Where: Cambrian Heights Community Centre Parking Lot, 600 Northmount Drive N.W.

This event is brought to you by the Cambrian Heights and Rosemont Community Associations with valuable support from Calgary Community Standards, Calgary Waste & Recycling, Calgary Parks & Recreation, and Alberta Recycling.

What to Bring

Accepted Items:

  • Household Waste (City of Calgary)
  • Yard Waste (City of Calgary)
  • Home Electronics (computers, laptops, monitors, printers, fax machines, scanners, telecom devices)
  • Home Appliances (except fridges and freezers)
  • Power & Air Tools, Lawn Equipment
  • Car Batteries (not alkaline batteries)

Please Note: We are unable to accept propane tanks, paint, household chemicals, fridges, freezers, oils, alkaline batteries, or tires.

Volunteers Needed

Bike Day 2024

CHCA’s 3rd Annual Bike Event is coming to the community on June 1st. Expect the same outdoor fun as previous years – skills and obstacle course, bike wash and decoration stations, as well as bike tune up clinics. This year, we are excited to be teaming up with other NW Communities to host a large Bike Day Event. Bring your water bottles, explore the pathways and ride your bike to stamp your “passport” and be in the running for great prizes!

Celtic Dance & Social

Enjoy a night filled with fun and laughter all while ceilidh dancing with your friends and neighbours!
Featuring live music by Celtic band Mercat Cross and ceilidh caller, Leslie Gotfrit! Dance instruction provided. Cash bar available. Adults only, no minors.

Join us for Polar Party 2024

We can’t think of a better way to warm up this winter than sitting by an outdoor fire and enjoying the company of neighbours! Come to CHCA’s Polar Party on January 27th from 1-4pm to enjoy hot beverages, snacks, great music and skating! Free – bring your skates and mugs. 

Thanks in advance to “The Rink Rats” for all that you do to keep our rinks maintained throughout the winter! 

Due to limited use in previous years, we will not be offering the Skate Shack this year.

December Movie Night

Cambrian Heights held its first ever Movie Night with a Christmas theme on December 8. It was attended by over 85 children and adults. Popcorn, pizza and drinks were provided and the fun atmosphere was enjoyed by all. Thanks to our Social Committee for initiating an event we hope to continue in 2024.

Lego Contest a Resounding Success

The Lego Contest held on November 18 was a resounding success with 56 entries over 6 age categories. It was great to return this event from its COVID suspension and witness such a large turnout from residents in Cambrian Heights and nearby communities. Thanks to the organizing Social Committee of Betty Bacque, Sangeeta Cotton and Hannah Bryant and the volunteer judges namely Noah Sonnenburg, Stephen Joe (Season 3 Lego master NA contestant), Mike Allan and Nancy Else.

CHCA Holiday Movie Night

Join us on Friday, December 8th for the CHCA Holiday Movie Night!

$5 per family, come enjoy a movie alongside pizza, popcorn and drinks.

Doors at 5:15pm, Movie at 6:00pm.
