Special Resolution Altering the Definition of Fiscal Year and  Proper Notice in Cambrian Heights Community Association Bylaws

“ASSOCIATION BYLAWS”

BE IT RESOLVED AS A SPECIAL RESOLUTION of the COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION:

That the amendment to the Community Association Bylaws as filed with the Registrar of Corporations of Alberta be amended by adding the following Clauses and renumbering the impacted sequence of existing Clauses and references as required:

ARTICLE 2               DEFINITIONS AND INTERPERTATION

2.1.17              “Fiscal Year” means the twelve month period commencing on January 1st of a year and ending on December 31st of the same year.

2.1.25              “Proper Notice” means giving notice in writing, by letter or by publication in the Community newsletter or website, not less than ten days prior to the General Meeting, stating the intention or purpose of the meeting, and delivered to the last recorded street address or email address of the member, which notice is deemed to be given when delivered to an email address, household or post office, or when published in a Community newsletter or the Community website.

The purpose of the Fiscal year change is to better allow audited annual financial statement comparisons on a yearly basis at our yearly April Annual General Meeting and to coincide with the annual membership dues which are paid on a calendar year basis.

The addition of both email and website notices are to better reflect current social media trends and to allow more efficient communications on a time sensitive basis.
