Cambrian Heights Community Association board meetings will be held now be held at the Georgina Thomson Office located at the northwest corner of 14th Street and Northmount Drive. Many of you will remember this building as the old library. Our Board meeting will begin at 6:30pm and all community residents are welcome to stay. You can meet the executive as well as learn about issues and events in our neighbourhood.
Georgina Thomson Office
The Georgina Thomson building (722 Northmount Dr., NW) now houses offices for the City of Calgary’s Community & Neighbourhood Services. A business unit tasked with addressing the social needs of the individuals and communities of Calgary.
The library closed its doors in 2003 and was used by the Calgary Public Library as a storage facility for 10 years. It has since then undergone renovations to transform it into City administrative space and a multi-purpose room for community meetings and classes. A public art display to honour the legacy of the former library and Georgina Thomson herself will be unveiled spring 2015.
