TUESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2016 Triwood Community Association (2244 Chicoutimi Drive N.W.) The City met with Northmount Drive N.W. Improvement Project stakeholders in October 2015, hosted a public open house in February 2016 and collected online feedback as part of both events. Among the feedback, we heard concerns about school pick-up/drop-off zones, pedestrian safety, congestion and parking. In the spring, we held three workshops to discuss and identify solutions to these concerns. The project team used this feedback, along with technical analysis, to develop improvement options for Northmount Drive N.W. You are invited to participate in an options evaluation workshop to provide feedback on the proposed bike lane concept, intersection improvement options, proposed parking changes, school bus pick-up and drop-off zone improvements, and streetscape and pedestrian improvements. Event details Tuesday, October 18, 2016 Triwood Community Association (2244 Chicoutimi Drive N.W.) Two identical sessions are being offered at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to accommodate as many people as possible. Please RSVP for the session you would like to attend. You can also RSVP by by calling 311. Agenda
If you are unable to attend either session, you can review the presentation and provide your feedback at calgary.ca/bikeprojects from October 18 – November 1, 2016. An input summary will be posted at calgary.ca/bikeprojects in late 2016. Why are we doing this project? Northmount Drive N.W. is scheduled for re-paving in 2017, which presents an opportunity to cost-effectively improve the current road design so it functions better for people who walk, bike, drive and take transit. The project will consider ways to improve traffic flow and pedestrian crossings, as well as accommodate bicycle lanes, which were recommended on Northmount Drive N.W. in the 2001 Pathway and Bikeway Implementation Plan and in the 2014 Complete Streets Guide.
