Attention Ward 4 Residents,
- The City of Calgary is celebrating its 10th annual Neighbour Day on Saturday, June 17, 2023.
- Free permits are being offered for block parties and greenspace events happening on Neighbour Day. The deadline to submit permit applications is Sunday, May 28.
- Calgarians can invite the Mayor, local councillors, police officers, firefighters, and peace officers to their Neighbour Day event through calgary.ca/NeighbourDay.
- Neighbour Day is an opportunity for neighbours to come together for block parties, BBQs, cleanups, sport activities, kids’ crafts and games, and more.
- There are additional ideas on how to celebrate Neighbour Day, such as decorating your house, hosting a picnic or potluck, organizing a parade or drawing competition, and helping your neighbour with cleaning or gardening.
- As part of the 10th annual Neighbour Day, The City is holding a one-day emergency preparedness event at the Genesis Centre on June 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- This free, family-friendly event will provide Calgarians with the opportunity to learn how to prepare their household for emergencies and meet with local emergency service providers.
- To participate in Neighbour Day and access resources like an event planning kit, information about permits, templates, and other logistical considerations, visit calgary.ca/NeighbourDay.
